Applications are invited for filling up the following posts:
1. Assistant Professor
Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100 , AGP: Rs.6000
Minimum Qualification:
I. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the master's Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
II. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
III. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clause (I) and (II) above, candidates who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
2. Assistant Librarian
Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100
AGP: Rs.6000
Minimum Qualification:
I. A Master's Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or any equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.
II. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
III. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with the "University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment.

Downloaded applications shall be accompanied by relevant documents and DD for Rs. 500-00 (Rs. 250-00 for SC/ST/Cat-I whose limits provided for reimbursement of fee) from Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of Finance Officer, Tumkur University, Tumkur. The applications should be routed through the recognized guides (Guides can forward any number of applications, through the relevant Research centres. However, allotment of seats will be as per the Regulation). Duly filled in application should reach Dr.Jayaramu M, Co-ordinator, University Research Centres, University Science College, B.H. Road, Tumkur- 572 103 on or before 21st May 2010.
